Saving the Patient Suffering from Acute Infectious Polyneuritis
This patient, a six-year-old girl, contracted acute infectious polyneuritis last December. When she contracted this illness, she began to suffer from fever, vomiting, diarrhoea and pain at the back of her neck. It was at the time when the enteric virus was prevalent, so she was treated for having contracted the enteric virus. Three days after the treatment, she was shocked to find that she was not able to move her left hand and that she had had paralysis around her neck. She was taken immediately to ER in a major hospital and was admitted to ICU for two weeks. After being discharged from ICU, her condition deteriorated. She could not move her right hand either. She stayed in the hospital for two months in total and underwent all examinations possible. However, there was no improvement in her condition. On the day she was discharged from the hospital, her family searched on the internet and found a very skilful doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. She was discharged in the morning and went to see that doctor straight away in the afternoon on the same day. My master, Dr. Chong-Kai Wen, was the skilful doctor that they found online. In February when this little patient visited the clinic, she was sickly and slumped in her wheelchair. She made no responses, nor did she want to talk. As she breathed, her diaphragm didn't move and both her chest and abdomen were depressed. Her neck was lacking in strength and support, and her limbs were paralysed. She was not able to remain seated.
